Parents spend year after year making decisions for their children. They rarely stop to think that at some point all of their decision making power will come to an end. After all, just because a kid is 18, that does not mean that mom and dad all of a sudden stop being mom and dad.

However, parents are often surprised when they are unable to conduct business on behalf of their child for the first time. The age of majority, or the age that a child legally becomes an adult, is 18 in the United States.
